Studio Policies
At Butler & Badou Portraits, we are a fine art portrait studio that specializes in creating beautiful memories for families throughout Texas and the rest of the United States.
We will stop at nothing to achieve the very best results for you. To achieve this, it’s important that you are aware of how our studio works…
PRE-SESSION CONSULTATION – Each session starts with a pre-session consultation. This is done over the phone with all adults that will be a part of the decision-making process. In this, we go over the goals of the session, what you want to create, and studio policies. If we are unable to contact all decision-makers we will wait to schedule the session until we are able to speak to everyone.
SESSION TYPE - Please choose if you would like to use your certificate towards a Family or Boudoir photography session.
FAMILY SESSIONS
a. CHILDREN – If you would like your children photographed individually or together, we are happy to photograph them at no extra charge so long as the entire family unit attends the portrait session.
b. PETS – We are happy to accommodate pets in our studio. They can be photographed individually or together with no extra cost. Please let us know ahead of time so we can accommodate the studio appropriately for your pet.
c. PARTIAL FAMILIES – We do not photograph ‘incomplete families,’ where one family member is not able to attend the portrait session, but wants to attend at another time. We are more than happy to reschedule a new appointment for you when you are all together.
DEPOSIT – A valid credit card is required to make all photography reservations. At the time of booking we will collect a deposit. This deposit is refundable so long as you cancel your reservation before 7 days of your session. The deposit will be used towards your session once it has been concluded.
ATTENDANCE – We require that all adults making purchasing decisions attend the design and ordering appointment. This appointment is unable to take place unless all adults involved attend. Your order appointment is the first and only time you will see your pictures. This is when we place your order so all decision makers need to be present. Your images are retired after this appointment and no longer available for purchase. All orders are also finalized during this time and cannot be changed, modified, or canceled.
HOURS – Studio hours are most commonly Tuesday to Friday 10am-2pm. After hours portrait sessions are very popular and we can have our staff accommodate, subject to availability.
SESSION FEE A – indoor studio photography has a studio session fee of $245.
SESSION FEE B – outdoor location photography (beach, home, etc) is available at extra cost and is subject to availability – a session fee of $545 is required for all outdoor locations.
CANCELLATIONS – If you are unable to keep your appointment, you must let us know at least 7 days before your session. Photoshoots changed less than 7 days before your session, forfeit their deposit and they will have to make a new appointment and pay a new session fee. We reserve 2 hours for your session. If you are more than 15 minutes late to your appointment, we will not be able to photograph you. You will need to book a new time and pay a new session fee.
DRESS CODE – Upon making your reservation, we will send you valuable advice on clothing selection and other ideas so that you will get the most out of your time with us. Please be sure to read the information.
PAYMENT PLANS – We are here to help you get the best from your time with us and we can offer valuable advice on how to achieve the best end result, even if you have a limited budget. We offer very low payment plans with 6% interest terms up to 9 months and we accept all credit cards.
GIFT CERTIFICATES –
Your gift certificate is for artwork from a family or boudoir portrait session. ‘Family’ is parents and/or grandparents with children of any age. Many clients take this opportunity to make multigenerational portraits including up to 5 generations. Boudoir is for an individual woman or a couple. Gift certificates are not valid past expiration date – your portrait session must occur before expiration date, it is advisable to call us within 7 days of receiving your gift certificate to ensure we can give you more time and day options. Gift certificates are not redeemable for cash.
Additional and larger portraits, painted finishes and frames cost extra – You are never under any obligation to invest more than your Gift Certificate value.
